Frequently asked questions

How do I sign a PDF online?
Upload your PDF, draw your signature or upload an image of it, drag it to the right spot on the page, size it, and download the signed file.
Is a drawn signature legally binding?
It adds a visible signature image to the document, which is widely accepted for everyday agreements. For regulated or qualified electronic signatures (eIDAS, ESIGN with audit trails), use a certified e-signature provider.
Is my document uploaded to a server?
No. Signing happens in your browser with pdf-lib; the PDF and your signature aren't uploaded to sign. Only a result you choose to Save is stored.
Can I draw my signature or upload one?
Both. Draw with a mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen, or upload a PNG/JPG image of your signature (a transparent PNG looks best).
Can I place the signature on any page?
Yes. Page through the document, then drag the signature to where it should appear and adjust its size.
